MEAT CACHE
Cape Dorset, 2001
Etching, Edition of 10, 14.75 x 11.25”
In traditional Inuit culture, meat would be stockpiled for future use.
A pile of rocks both protected the contents from the worst of the elements,
and tried to prevent animals from getting into the food supply! In Sheojuke’s
image, this practical structure has become a decorative form.
