Tytoosie, son of Oviloo, claims artistic pedigree on both sides of his family tree. During his formative years he was influenced by his father’s extended family of artists. Ashevak Tunnillie is the brother of Tytoosie’s father, Iyola. “My uncle Ashevak used to let me drive his snowmobile out on the land. Here he has a knapsack on his back, and is carrying a heavy piece of stone - he always tries to take one more if he can! He is a good carver.”
