Tytoosie: “My grandfather [Kabubuwa Tunnillie] used to make carvings of whales. This sculpture makes me think of him, and the time he spent teaching me to carve. I have been carving for over seven years now, since I was twenty. I started mostly by watching my mother [Oviloo] and grandfather.”
