SHAMAN AND SEDNA
Cape Dorset, 2002
Stone, Antler, Bone, 3.75 x 4 x 9.25”
Although he is the youngest of his artistic siblings, Sam is the most
likely to create images referencing traditional spirituality, such as
the shaman’s shape-shifting abilities. About his choice of material,
Sam adds: “I like to carve in bone because it doesn’t need
to be sanded like stone!”
