Oviloo created this large-scale sculpture as a recollection of her childhood.
“It is my mother, Sheojuke, and she is carrying my brother, Timoon,
in her amautiq. This was around the time when I came back from the South
after treatment for tuberculosis. I remember my mother lighting the
kudlik.”
