Annie Pootoogook (1969 - ) Increasingly conscious of her artistic heritage, Annie titled this
recent work in homage to her mother and grandmother. Annie drew all
three 'drawings' and marked each with the appropriate syllabic 'signature'.
The top is in the style of her grandmother, Pitseolak. In the middle,
Annie recreates the work of her mother, Napatchie. Annie's own style
and modern subject matter is represented in the lowest register.
