"The man with the hat is buying the carving on the floor from my uncle Qaqaq [Ashoona]," Annie explains. Several of Annie's drawings present recollections of her childhood life in the 1970s, before modern amenities such as indoor plumbing. "This was years ago, at my uncle's outpost camp. We would visit him when we went out on the land."
