The Artist in the Arctic series was established by Feheley Fine Arts in response to the realization that travel in the Arctic has profoundly influenced the work of a number of contemporary Canadian artists. Whether they have gone north as part of visiting artist programs or for their own interest, the distinctive landscape of the Arctic provides unique inspiration. This series affords the viewer the opportunity to replace preconceived notions of the 'wild far north', as the images reflect the surprising variety, subtlety and colour of this northern land. Since 1987 the works of seven 'southern' artists have been presented. Included are David Alexander, K.M. Graham, Toni Onley, Bill Ritchie, George Gilmour, Les Levine and Jean Twist. We maintain an ongoing inventory of works by several of the artists who have participated over the years in the Artist in the Arctic series. Please enquire for more information. |
