NANCY PUKINGRNAK (1940 - ) |

Although Nancy Pukingrnak did not begin creating artwork until well into her 20s, it seems as though it was an inevitable progression coming from such an artistic family. Her mother Jessie Oonark is one of Canada's most celebrated artists, and Pukingrnak's siblings, including Janet Kigusiuq, William Noah and Victoria Mamnguqsualuk, are also successful artists. It was through the encouragement of this already established artistic family that Pukingrnak took on the role of artist in the 1960s, first with carving and then with graphic and textile arts.
