We are delighted to announce that we are now settled in our new gallery, located at 65 George Street in Toronto. The new, larger gallery space is located in the St. Lawrence Market area in a historic building in downtown Toronto. Number 65 is located on the east side of George Street, between King and Front Streets.
The new gallery gives us much more flexibility to showcase to full effect the new works by our contemporary Inuit artists. The size of the works on paper coming from the north has increased dramatically as has the variety of media used by many of the artists.
We are also pleased to announce the creation of Centre Space, a large gallery within a gallery. Conceived by Patricia Feheley and Montreal gallery owner, Pierre-François Ouellette, Centre Space is an innovative concept which will allow both gallerists to present rotating exhibitions which reflect their diverse visions of contemporary art. Ouellette has a history of pushing the boundaries of commercial galleries by featuring museum quality installations alongside more conventional media. This is consistent with our own view that our exhibitions of contemporary Inuit artists working in new scale, new media, and new subject matter challenge the traditional view of Inuit art.
An official launch event for both the Feheley Fine Arts Gallery and Centre Space will take place in February. Updated information will appear on both our website, that of Centre Space, as well as on Facebook.
